We have released a new matched spare part set for the hydraulic drive train of ABG226 and ABG6820C asphalt pavers: the pump distributor gear RM80742034 supplied together with its transfer case assembly. The set is aimed at contractors and repair workshops that rebuild the pump drive after a gear failure, because the distributor gear and the transfer case wear together and rarely fail on their own. Selling them as one matched set removes the guesswork of mixing a new gear with a used housing.

On ABG series pavers the distributor gear drives oil from the pump to the travel and conveyor circuits. When the gear teeth score or pit, metal particles travel through the oil and damage the transfer case bearings and shaft seals shortly afterwards. Fitting only a new gear into a worn case usually brings the same failure back within a few hundred working hours. Our set addresses that sequence directly:

• Lapped as a pair. The distributor gear and transfer case are lapped together before packing, so backlash stays within 0.05-0.15 mm after installation.
• Carburized alloy steel. The gear is cut from 20CrMnTi blank, carburized to 0.8-1.2 mm case depth and hardened to HRC 58-62 to resist abrasive paving dust.
• Ground tooth profile. Teeth are profile ground after heat treatment, which keeps the contact pattern centred and reduces whine at working pressure.
• Direct replacement fit. Spline count, bore and mounting flange match the original part, so no on-site machining is needed.
• Batch tested. Each batch runs on a test bench for leakage and rotation torque before shipment, with an inspection report provided.

The set is the right choice when the distributor gear shows scoring, tooth pitting or metal particles in the hydraulic oil, or when the transfer case shows bearing play or oil seepage at the shaft seal. Before ordering, please check two points on the machine:

• Confirm the machine serial number and production year, because spline and flange versions differ between production batches.
• Read the original part number cast on the old gear or stamped on the case, and send us a photo of the removed part if the number is unreadable.

During installation, flush the hydraulic circuit and replace the return filter before the first run-in, so that residual metal particles from the failed part do not enter the new gear set.
