• Screed Models: AB500-2TV and AB500-3TV telescopic screeds .

  • AB500-2TV: This screed version features a Tamper and Vibrator compaction system, providing both high-speed tamping for pre-compaction and vibration for final finishing .

  • AB500-3TV: The newer generation screed retains the Tamper and Vibrator configuration, offering enhanced durability and performance. Parts like the guard plate are often interchangeable between the -2 and -3 series due to shared design architecture .

The "TV" designation is critical, as it confirms the screed is equipped with a tamping system, which necessitates the use of a guard plate .

3. Location within the Screed Assembly

The Ironing Hammer Guard Plate is mounted on the front face of the screed, directly in front of the tamping beam.

• It is positioned horizontally across the width of the screed (or screed extension) and is bolted or fastened to the screed's front plate.

• The guard plate sits in close proximity to the moving tamper, forming a protective shroud that covers the gap between the tamper and the screed's main body.
