Where the screed edge loses control, the mat loses its profile. This side plate assembly closes the outer edge of the screed box, holding the asphalt mix inside the working width so the plate delivers a straight, dense shoulder run after run. Supplied as the left-hand unit for VB78, VB88 and VDT-V78 screed systems, it replaces the worn original without adapting holes, shims or brackets.

• Edge that keeps its shape. The working face is cut from wear-resistant steel, so the retaining edge stays straight through abrasive mix instead of rolling over and letting material escape.
• Ribs where the load lands. Welded reinforcement ribs sit behind the plate at the highest pressure zone, limiting flex that would otherwise open a gap along the seam.
• Bolt holes that line up. Hole pattern and mating faces are checked against the original, so the plate seats on the screed arm without re-drilling or field shimming.
• Left and right stay level. Matching thickness and geometry to the opposite side keeps the screed balanced, which shows up as an even mat edge rather than a stepped joint.

1. Raise the screed and support it; switch off the engine and release hydraulic pressure.
2. Unbolt the worn stop plate and left screed side, keeping the original fasteners for inspection.
3. Clean the mounting face, then seat the new plate and torque the bolts in a cross pattern.
4. Check the plate-to-auger clearance and run a short test strip before full production.

Dimensional check on hole spacing, plate thickness and edge straightness is carried out before packing, and a machinery test report and outgoing inspection video can be issued with the shipment. Standard packing is carton inside a wooden box or pallet, with rust-preventive wrap on the machined faces; pallet and crate marking can follow your warehouse requirements.
